ELFIE REIGATE

Tell us a little bit about what you do? Can you let us know what exciting projects you’re working on at the moment?
I love writing, and lately I’ve been working on some exciting projects with magazines and digital webpages. I recently finished studying for my Master’s, so it’s been really great to keep the ball rolling and continue doing what I love. I’m going back to school in September to start a PhD, so I’ve also been spending a lot of time trying to mentally prepare for that..
What draws you to a project? Can you tell me about a project you’re most proud of and why?
One of my favourite projects was writing for Mulberry England’s ‘my local’ series in 2020. It was during the Covid lockdown, and it was meant to be a kind of homage to all the places we missed during that weird time. It was my second year at university at the time, so mine was of course a tribute to our local pub.
Where do you find inspiration?
A huge part of the way I think about things comes from my stepdad, Jake. Even when we were little, he’s always spoken to (and argued with) my sisters and I as if we were adults, and I think that has built a lot of resilience and curiosity in terms of how we approach things.
How do you approach getting dressed every day? Can you tell us a bit about your personal style?
The way I get dressed everyday definitely depends on my mood…  I would say a good day is a dress/ jorts, a bad day is pyjamas (this could also be the outfit of a really good day) and a standard day is usually just jeans.
What are you wearing here and what made you gravitate towards this look from HUISHAN ZHANG?
I love this look because I love denim, especially a co-ordinating denim set! Denim dresses are a summer staple for me; elegant enough for going out but casual enough for everyday
